About this Gateway
The International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) Gateway invites oral and poster presenters to submit their complete papers for publication. Papers may address research findings, effective programs and best practices, or advocacy and accountability.

The ICFP gateway also offers the opportunity to publish slides and posters presented at the Conference.

As with all publications on Gates Open Research, authors benefit from rapid online dissemination of their research. All full articles undergo open, invited peer review, which takes place after publication.

Gateway Areas
Co-hosted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Rwanda, the 2018 ICFP was held in Kigali, Rwanda. The theme of the conference was “Investing for a Lifetime of Returns.”
The Not Without FP Forum, held in February 2021, will virtually bring together scientists, advocates, leaders and community members to discuss the intersections of COVID-19, universal health coverage and family planning systems, services and products.
The 2022 ICFP was held in Pattaya, Thailand in November of that year. The theme of the 2022 event underscored the key role that family planning plays in achieving universal health coverage
